The Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), which is acclaimed as the second most important film festival after Cannes, took place from September 6th to September 16th in Toronto. Held annually, TIFF serves as a celebration and launching pad for Canadian, Hollywood, and international film and even gives awards to the best in cinema for the year. Through all the premieres, press conferences, and after-parties, stars had several chances to dress up and walk the red carpet. Whether they were new independent filmmakers trying to make a statement or Hollywood celebrities donning the biggest names in fashion, the stars at TIFF didn’t disappoint on the screen or on the red carpet.
Diane Kruger in Valentino Couture
At the premiere of Inescapable, Diane Kruger wore a sparkly leopard-print and black Valentino Couture dress with sheer insets in the sleeves and bands of fur surrounding the bodice.
Anna Kendrick in Mulberry
Representing the films End of Watch and The Company You Keep, Anna Kendrick graced the red carpet in a sheer lace Mulberry dress with architectural details.
Keira Knightley in Elie Saab
At the premiere of Anna Karenina, Keira Knightley stunned onlookers in a sheer, sequined Elie Saab gown.
Gwenyth Paltrow in Tom Ford
At the Thanks for Sharing premiere, Gwyneth Paltrow wore a simple, yet sexy, Tom Ford LBD, but punched it up with Giuseppe Zanotti shoes, a Baume & Mercier watch, and an Annoushka bracelet.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt in Thom Browne
In a sea of boring and typical suits, Joseph Gordon-Levitt spiced it up quite a bit in a dapper double-breasted Thom Browne suit at the premiere of Looper.
Carey Mulligan in Christopher Kane Resort
Carey Mulligan provided a touch of class and fun to the red carpet in a space-themed Christopher Kane Resort dress, adding the extra length onto the dress herself.
Vanessa Hudgens in Notte by Marchesa
At the Springbreakers premiere, Vanessa Hudgens shined in a flowy fuchsia Notte by Marchesa gown.
Lily Collins in Balmain
At the Writers premiere, Lily Collins wore a beaded, Asian-inspired Balmain dress with Casadei shoes and Tiffany & Co. jewelry.
Emma Watson in Erdem
At the Perks of Being a Wallflower premiere, Emma Watson exhibited her superior fashion taste once again by wearing a sheer and floral Erdem dress and black Prada pumps.
Elle Fanning in Miu Miu
At the Ginger & Rosa premiere, Elle Fanning, dressed in head-to-toe Mui Mui, defined the term “haute couture” by wearing a blue jacquard trouser suit and green boots. One word: stunning.
