If you thought Dion Lee’s Fall 2012 collection looked futuristic, that is nothing compared to Lee’s Spring 2013 ready-to-wear collection, which was just shown at London Fashion Week. This collection boasted architectural cuts and bold slashes of color. The show began with four white looks, then added pops of bright orange, and then moved onto blues and blacks.
In each outfit, Lee used no more than three or four colors, but the swirls of the colored lines gave each outfit depth. Additionally, Lee’s series of delicate cuts in the skirts and highly-structured jackets made the looks appear as though they are freestanding pieces of art. The workmanship and intricacy of each outfit draws the viewer in to appreciate Lee’s eye for blending bold colors, lines, and cuts.
